Love Story - Rain. Featuring Ha Ji Won from Hwang Jin-i(chio-ness)!

Beautiful sunset! I forgot to turn off macro mode, and before i could take again the air stewardess asked me not to stand there =/

The toddlers are sooo cute when wrapped up in winter wear :D

We relied mainly on this book for everything; places to go, train system map, what food to try, common korean phrases etc. The book's great!

The food we bought back.

These are love! Provided by the airlines.

We went with 2 luggages, and we came back with 5 bags! LOL.

I'm Back!
Missed me?! If your answer is no, stop lying to yourself :P
Haha, just kidding. Anyway, i missed you guys :)

Since there are really too many photos i took during the 7 days at Korea, i shall blog in separate posts; first about my overall experience and random photos, next about the first 3 days, and lastly about the last 4 days (might subject to changes luh). So stay tuned okay!

Overall:
1. Weather
- Whenever people ask me how Korea was, the first thing i'll say is: COLD!!!
It's below freezing point there okay! The day i reached, it was -4°C :O
Despite the many layers of clothes, the hands and face are vulnerable as they are the most exposed parts of the body. I can wear gloves, but i have to take photos etc, so i have to remove them sometimes.
It's okay when there's no wind. But when there is, it's quite torturous =/
Sometimes my hands would be so cold that they turn numb, even a little painful. Hence, even when i accidentally scratched my hand, i'll only realise it after i reach the hotel. Lol. Same goes for the feet.
Sometimes in the extreme coldness, when i touched my numb ear which felt like stone, i feared that it would drop off, seriously. Then, when i try to wear my ear muffs, they are so difficult to untwist and my hands are so numb that i gave up wearing it.

I've experienced how fortunate you'll feel when you buy warm food from the roadside stalls when you're out there freezing in the cold, or when you are served a bowl of piping hot noodles after entering the restaurant.

2. People
- The korean ladies put alot of emphasis on their looks.
Most of them wear nicely and will put make up. Even the aunties that sell food at roadside stalls doll themselves up. To emphasize this point, when korean students fare well in their studies, many parents reward them with money for plastic surgery, in case you don't know.

- Lots of young people wear geek specs.

- There are lots of couples everywhere and i wonder why.
Whenever i look around, i'll see loving pairs, with arms hooked or teasing one another. At crowded places, i'll see guys holding their gf's hand, guiding them through the crowd. Some would be snuggling up to each other for warmth, and sometimes i'll see guys buying things like hairbands with reindeer's horns for their gf to wear on x'mas eve and x'mas. Somehow i can see that all of them will have a future together, unlike play play or fragile relationships that last for weeks or months in S'pore. I even saw a super compatible couple, of matching size, matching looks, matching handphone keychains (mickey & minnie), same hats, same shirts, same jackets, same socks, same shoes. They really looked like they were mean to be. *Envy*

- Most koreans can only speak very little english or chinese. They can understand a few basic english words.

- Their service are mainly better than Singapore, though not as good as Taiwan. People who tend to stalls or shops would greet you and ask you to buy their things when you walk past, unlike in Singapore where they don't give a damn.

- Koreans are very fast-paced. If i walk at a leisurely pace in a busy area, i'll feel a little pressurized and afraid that i'll be obstructing anyone's way. Lol. Can compete with Hong Kong i guess?

3. 遍体鳞伤
Aha. Alright, just being exaggerating. But i've really accumulated several small wounds and aches from the trip. Sorry to let down those who asked me to take lots of care during the trip :P
Let's start from head to toe.
I had some mild headaches in Korea, but it's nothing much.
My nose bled sometimes after i wake up in the morning.

The skin from my nose and below are dry like sand paper.
The area below my lower lip was itchy and had a little rash or something.
My gums at the left ceiling of my mouth are painful when i eat and brush teeth.
I have 2 small cuts on both my index fingers.
The skin under my thumb at the back of my hand cracked and was dry and red and quite painful.
My skin had a little allergy i guess, so there were mild rashes all over. They become itchy when i reach the hotel, and i'll scratch like crazy. My skin was flaky too.
I bought new shoes and wore them, and they sort of cut the behind of my feet. The big toe area of both my feet were aching from idk the new shoe or all the walking or the cold weather. And, they became a little swollen after i came back.

4. Songs
- Korean songs are nice! I fell in love with a few of them which i heard quite often playing in shops and some from the mtv channel.
My mum fell in love with one song, and after she heard it, she said "I'm going to buy korean cds!" We didn't know what's the singer's name and the song's title, so she just asked the sales assistant to recommend a few popular albums. And lucky enough, after listening to them after we reached home, there was the song she liked! She blasted it in the car =.=
This is the song:

Anyway, i bought Rain's album too :D I don't find him really handsome but his sexy voice + body can make up for it =x
And there's one cute song i fell in love with, but i don't know the name of the female group and title too =/ But i didn't give up, and searched for it half a day online, trying all means and ways, and succeeded! :D The good thing was i remembered that it was shown on the tv when they sang it during a concert, so i searched for the concert and found it. It's one of my new blog songs, My Style - Brown Eyed Girls, maybe you can keep refreshing to listen :)

5. Others
- Many people asked me whether it snowed. Yes it did, a drizzle for one night :) Lucky to have seen it, because it didn't snow for the other days i was there.

- The price of things there are reasonable, like Singapore.

- I like the korean language because i find it quite cute, words usually ending with 'yo' and 'da'.

- There's an english channel in Seoul which shows english movies. I watched X-men(very classic, when Wolverine had to kill Jean whom he loved because she lost control of her powers).
Jean said something like that when she was about to kill him: "What do you die for?"
Wolverine: "For you."
Then Jean's face went soft, back to her normal self, then begged him : "Kill me."
Wolverine: "I love you." Then his blades came out suddenly and stabbed her. He cried and screamed her name while holding her lifeless body. *weeps*

Watched Jumper(way cool! i wanna be a jumper too!), Nancy Drew(yay Emma Roberts!), and many other nice movies too.

- Korean airlines suck because there's no screen for you to do anything! No watching movie, tv, playing games etc, unlike Singapore airlines! Singapore airlines is still the best so far.

- Some common korean phrases:
How are you? = an nyeong ha se yo
How much? (price) = ul ma ye yo?
thank you = gam sa hamnida
sorry = mi an hamnida

Read this book to kill my boredom on the plane and everynight when i got tired of PSP.
It's heartwarming and full of sarcastic humor(positive) :) And i cried near the end :(
